The Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center is a jazz performance and education facility within Wayne State University's Department of Music, funded by a $9.5 million gift from jazz patron Gretchen C. Valade. It houses a main performance hall and a club-style venue as part of the Hilberry Gateway performing arts complex, and supports an endowed artistic director chair and jazz studies scholarships.
